In co-op, the last shot of each magazine heals the other player for half a heart if shot at them. This shot costs 1 ammo when fired, and an additional 24 when the heal occurs.
The AoE effect only lasts as long as the weapon's reload time. This means that any item that increases reload speed (such as [银河勇士奖章] ) nerfs the AoE effect by ending it early. This also applies to Cog of Battle , in which case the effect is also canceled early by the active reload, making it often favorable to not use the active reload to prolong the AoE effect.
