All NPCs & Merchants Guide

NPCs in Enter the Gungeon come in two groups: some appear inside the Gungeon and only settle in 틈 once rescued or dealt with, while others live in 틈 and handle unlocks, shops and game modes. The same NPC often offers different services on each side, so this guide is split the same way.

The first half covers NPCs inside the Gungeon (shops, special exchanges, secret-room-only, challenges and lore); the second half covers 틈. Four of them appear on both sides — the 틈 entry is marked in its heading, and the Gungeon entry links straight to it.

Dungeon NPCs

Shops

상인 – 벨로 (main shopkeeper)

상인 – 벨로 runs the main shop on every floor except the 대장간, Resourceful Rat's Lair, R&G Dept., and Bullet Hell. His stock includes random 총기, 아이템, 공포탄, 지도, and 유리 구온석.

• Firing a weapon in his shop earns a warning; a second offense doubles all prices; a third closes the shop permanently
• Every floor's shop always stocks at least one 열쇠
• Some items trigger special effects when bought from a shop

공포탄 상인 – 올드 레드

공포탄 상인 – 올드 레드 specialises in 공포탄-related items, including Ammolets and the 오래된 공포탄. She must be rescued from her cell in Enter the Gungeon before she begins appearing in shops.

마녀 상인 – 커슐라

마녀 상인 – 커슐라 sells magic items and charming guns at a steep 50% discount — the deepest in the game. The catch is that every purchase raises Curse by 2.5, so weigh the half-price tag against the Curse before buying. She must be rescued before appearing in shops.

액체 상인 – 구프톤 교수

액체 상인 – 구프톤 교수 specialises in goop, poison, and fluid-related items at a 20% discount. He must be rescued before appearing in Enter the Gungeon and 틈. His second shop is covered in 액체 상인 – 구프톤 교수 (틈).

열쇠 상인 – 플린트

열쇠 상인 – 플린트 accepts 열쇠 instead of 탄피. He sells chest- and key-related items. He must be rescued before appearing in shops.

무기 상인 – 트로크

무기 상인 – 트로크 sells military-themed guns and items at a 20% discount. He must be rescued before appearing in Enter the Gungeon and 틈. His second shop is covered in 무기 상인 – 트로크 (틈).

How prices are calculated

A price is the 등급's base cost × the floor's price multiplier × the merchant's discount × any item discount. Base costs (탄피) are S 품질 120, A 품질 90, B 품질 65, C 품질 45, and D 품질 35 탄피; for pickups it is 30 for 탄약 and 하트, 25 for 갑옷 and 열쇠, 20 for 공포탄 and 반쪽짜리 하트, and 10 for 유리 구온석.

• Merchant discounts: 마녀 상인 – 커슐라 ×0.5 (but she adds Curse — see What Is Curse? Effects and How to Lower It); 액체 상인 – 구프톤 교수 and 무기 상인 – 트로크 ×0.8; every Black Market merchant ×0.5, except 열쇠 상인 – 플린트's 열쇠-priced goods (see Demon Face)
• Item discounts: 강철 동전 ×0.8, 요령 좋은 성격 ×0.85, 히죽히죽 리볼버 ×0.85
• Exceptions: 테이블 기술 - 자금 always costs 50 탄피; 최고급 뇌관 (Bullet That Can Kill the Past Guide) and the 갉아 먹힌 열쇠 ignore every discount
• Before they are unlocked, 광대 가면, 드릴, and 돈가방 are priced at 9999 탄피 and can only be obtained by stealing them or forcing the shop to close (How to Steal from Shops)

Special Exchanges & Services

판매 괴물

판매 괴물 buys your guns and items for 탄피 at approximately 45% of their base price. If the player holds a 탄환의 주인, a dedicated 판매 괴물 room appears in the Hollow.

• S-quality items yield ~54 탄피; 고물 yields ~3 탄피
• Cannot sell: 스펀지, 구두쇠 보호 반지, 고장 난 텔레비전, or 믿음직한 자물쇠 따개

흡혈귀

After being rescued, 흡혈귀 occasionally appears beside 상인 – 벨로's shop or in her own cross-shaped room. She exchanges 반쪽짜리 하트 for 탄피 at a rate of 20 × the floor's price multiplier.

• Selling a 온전한 하트 yields more 탄피 than buying one from the shop costs — highly profitable
• Trading with 흡혈귀 does not count as taking damage and will not break 유리 구온석 or reset 폴라리스/메트로놈 streaks
• The 로봇 cannot trade with 흡혈귀
• Trading with 흡혈귀 three times unlocks 목재 빔

대장장이

대장장이 is found in the 대장간's shop, where she also sells three items and three pickups.

Her main role is collecting the four components needed to forge the 과거를 제거할 수 있는 총탄: 최고급 뇌관, 신비로운 화약, 평평한 납 조각, and 흑요석 탄피.

Each time you pass through with a component, she takes it and records the progress. Once all four are collected, the completed bullet can be carried into the next run to challenge the final boss.

• Bring the 고장 난 텔레비전 to unlock The 로봇 character
• Bring 루비 팔찌 to have her upgrade an item
• 틈 상인 – 옥스's replacement arm is found in the 대장간, but must be returned to 틈 상인 – 옥스 in the 틈 (not given to the 대장장이) — see his entry

간호사 자매 – 패치와 멘디

간호사 자매 – 패치와 멘디 appear in hidden rooms in Enter the Gungeon. They repair sawed-off or otherwise damaged guns — bring a broken weapon to them and they will restore it for free.

시너지 상인 – 시너그레이스

시너지 상인 – 시너그레이스 occasionally appears in Enter the Gungeon after being rescued. She sells a Synergy Chest — an unlocked chest that may contain an item able to synergise with your current loadout.

• She refuses to sell if you have no weapons or items capable of triggering a synergy
• The synergy chest is not guaranteed to produce a synergy-related item
• Synergy Chest can be Glitch Chest
• In Rainbow Mode, synergy chests yield nothing
• Purchasing from her 3 times unlocks 마초 브레이스

Secret Room NPCs

총 교환 마녀들

The three 총 교환 마녀들 — Squintie, Beakie, and Hunchie — appear in secret rooms in Enter the Gungeon (generated separately from normal secret rooms, so they don't replace them). Trade any gun and gain 2 Curse to receive a gun of equal or higher 등급 in return. The exchange can only be made once per encounter.

• The replacement gun is always equal to or one tier higher than the traded gun
• Adds 2 Curse — factor this into Curse-sensitive runs
• Works normally in Rainbow Mode

노인

The 노인 appears in secret rooms in Enter the Gungeon (generated separately, like the 총 교환 마녀들). He gives the player a free random gun or item, no strings attached.

• In co-op, the 노인 refuses to give anything

진리 탐구자 – 알번 형제

진리 탐구자 – 알번 형제 appears in secret rooms in Enter the Gungeon. He poses a question to the player and rewards them with a pickup, item, or gun depending on their answer.

Challenges & Minigames

사격 게임 진행자 – 윈체스터

사격 게임 진행자 – 윈체스터 runs a shooting minigame in Enter the Gungeon. Targets hit determine the 등급 of the reward chest. See the Winchester Minigame Guide for full rules and tips.

건슬링 킹 & 왕의 시종

건슬링 킹 offers wager challenges in Enter the Gungeon. Bet 18–22 탄피, then complete the next room under a specific condition to win your bet back plus a gun or item reward. He must be rescued before appearing.

Challenge types: clear the room without taking damage; without dodge rolling; using only a provided gun (클로브, 콩알 발사기, 데린저, 네일건, or 케이시); or in Challenge Mode (requires 도전 주사위 – 다이스케 to have returned to 틈).

• You must talk to him and place the wager before entering; the room is accessible either way, but walking in first simply forfeits that wager opportunity
• The provided gun cannot be dropped
• Completing 10 challenges and speaking to him in 틈 unlocks the 올빼미
• No reward is given in Rainbow Mode — a note is left instead

길 잃은 모험가

길 잃은 모험가 appears in hidden rooms that have a map on the wall. Speaking to him reveals the full room layout of the current floor. He returns to 틈 after being rescued. His entry after being rescued is 길 잃은 모험가 (틈).

Lore & Information

브록너

브록너 appears in an optional duel room in Enter the Gungeon. Defeating him yields an item reward and is connected to 세르 마누엘's side quest. He appears in 틈 after certain conditions are met. His later entry is 브록너 (틈).

틈 NPCs

Lore & Dialogue

주정뱅이

The 주정뱅이 sits in the lower left of 틈 from the very beginning — no rescue needed, and he sells nothing. Talk to him after defeating a boss or rescuing a new NPC and he will tell stories and offer wry commentary about that event.

Shops

틈 상인 – 옥스 & 틈 상인 – 캐던스

틈 상인 – 옥스 and 틈 상인 – 캐던스 share a single cell (in the 리드 로드의 성채 or 총굴 본관) and open a shop in 틈 once rescued. The shop trades in 헤게모니 크레딧s and sells unlocks — paying adds the gun or item to Enter the Gungeon's loot pool rather than handing it to you directly. When a row of stock sells out, new wares appear the next time 틈 reloads; buying everything costs 682 Credits in total.

• 틈 상인 – 옥스's side quest: after defeating the 드래건, his replacement arm can be found in the 대장간; carry it all the way back to 틈 to unlock 복제인간

외계인 상인 – 더그

외계인 상인 – 더그 is imprisoned in a cell in the 총굴 본관, 진정한 총의 수도원, or 화약 탄광.

Once rescued he occasionally appears in the lower center of 틈; the chance depends on the last chamber reached in the previous run (리드 로드의 성채 20%, 총굴 본관 40%, 화약 탄광 60%, Hollow 80%, 대장간 100%).

He sells unlocks for 헤게모니 크레딧s, stocking only 2 items at a time and restocking once both are bought. Buying everything costs 852 Credits and additionally unlocks 도금 총탄.

액체 상인 – 구프톤 교수 (틈)

After you buy something from 액체 상인 – 구프톤 교수's shop in Enter the Gungeon, he sets up a second store in the upper right of 틈, selling goop-themed gun and item unlocks (added to Enter the Gungeon's loot pool) for 헤게모니 크레딧s. Buying everything costs 146 Credits.

무기 상인 – 트로크 (틈)

After you buy something from 무기 상인 – 트로크's shop in Enter the Gungeon, he sets up a second store in the lower left of 틈, selling military-themed gun and item unlocks (added to Enter the Gungeon's loot pool) for 헤게모니 크레딧s. Buying everything costs 124 Credits.

Game Modes

터보 모드 개 – 토닉

터보 모드 개 – 토닉 is a blue St. Bernard and an homage to Sonic the Hedgehog. His cell only appears after the 드래건 has been defeated; once freed he settles in the upper right of 틈. Talking to him toggles Turbo Mode on and off for free, dramatically speeding up the whole game. See the Special Game Modes Guide (Turbo, Rainbow, Blessed & More) for a full mode overview.

축복의 마녀

축복의 마녀 can only be rescued from Enter the Gungeon after defeating the 드래건; she then settles in the upper right of 틈. For 6 헤게모니 크레딧s she blesses your next run: you carry a single gun that keeps transforming at random (it changes after enough damage dealt, kills, ammo depletion, or time in combat) and cannot pick up other guns. • Completing a blessed run unlocks 군터
• During a blessed run, bosses drop no 헤게모니 크레딧s, shops sell no guns, and shortcut elevators are unavailable

수리공

수리공 is 틈's elevator engineer, in charge of building shortcut elevators that let you start a run on a later floor. After speaking to him in 틈, he appears in elevator shafts: wait in a floor's first room until the elevator rises away, then drop down the shaft to find him.

Deliver the materials listed below (they can be accumulated over multiple runs, or paid off directly with 헤게모니 크레딧s) and the elevator room in 틈 will grant direct access to the corresponding floor. Each completed shortcut also rewards a gun or item.

Taking a shortcut straight to a deeper floor spawns 쥐갈공명, wearing a crude mask to impersonate 상인 – 벨로, in that floor's elevator entrance room.

He lays out three free guns of the same 등급 and lets you take some to make up for the loot you skipped: 총굴 본관 — D 품질, pick 1; 화약 탄광 — C 품질, pick 1; Hollow — B 품질, pick 2; 대장간 — B 품질, take all 3. The selection stays the same until you defeat that floor's boss.

사냥꾼 듀오 – 프라이플과 그레이 마우저

Once rescued, 사냥꾼 듀오 – 프라이플과 그레이 마우저 station themselves in the lower right of 틈 and hand out hunting contracts. You hold one contract at a time and complete it by killing the required number of target enemies in Enter the Gungeon; progress carries over between runs and is never lost to death or restarts. Each completed contract awards 5 헤게모니 크레딧s and unlocks the corresponding gun or item.

• Once all set contracts are done, they switch to repeatable random contracts (kill 20 of a given enemy for 5 헤게모니 크레딧s)

무지개 모드 상인 – 보울러

무지개 모드 상인 – 보울러's cell only appears after the 드래건 has been defeated. Once freed, talking to him toggles Rainbow Mode on and off for free: a Rainbow Chest spawns at the start of each chamber but you may take only one item from it, while all other chests and boss drops are replaced with notes from 무지개 모드 상인 – 보울러. 도전 주사위 – 다이스케

도전 주사위 – 다이스케's cell only appears after defeating the 드래건 once, or after using the dice shrine 3 times. Once rescued he settles in the upper right of 틈; talking to him enables Challenge Mode for the next run, applying random modifiers to every room and raising the difficulty considerably. After beating Challenge Mode once, you can instead enable the even harder Double Challenge Mode. See the Special Game Modes Guide (Turbo, Rainbow, Blessed & More) for a full mode overview.

• After his rescue, 건슬링 킹's wager challenges gain a Challenge Mode option

Lore & Information

길 잃은 모험가 (틈)

After being rescued, he appears in 틈; talking to him yields hints about the secret chambers.

세르 마누엘

세르 마누엘 needs no rescue — he is the tutorial instructor in the 0번째 방. After you avenge him by defeating 브록너 in the 화약 탄광, he appears in the lower left of 틈.

브록너 (틈)

After 브록너 is defeated in the 화약 탄광, his ghost appears in 틈, and he may later reappear in Enter the Gungeon as a miniboss. Defeating him unlocks 배신자의 방패 and 배지.

절벽 고블린

The 절벽 고블린 sits on a ledge in the lower right of 틈 with her helmet beside her. Kick the helmet off the ledge and she will head into Enter the Gungeon to retrieve it — you must then rescue her again from a cell on a deeper floor. After rescuing her 4 times, she chains the helmet down for good and 블래스트 투구 is unlocked.
