Dungeon Objects Guide (Mirrors, Black Market & Munchers)
How the interactive objects of Enter the Gungeon work: Mirrors, the Demon Face and the Black Market, Munchers and Evil Munchers, and the Heart Machine.

A handful of interactive objects are scattered through the rooms of Enter the Gungeon. None of them go into your inventory, but each has its own rules, and using one in the wrong order or the wrong way can waste the opportunity entirely.
The sections below cover
Mirror,
Demon Face, Muncher, Evil Muncher and
Heart Machine in that order, explaining how each is used, what it costs, and what to watch out for. Shrines are out of scope here — see the shrine list for what each one costs and gives.
Mirror

Mirrors show an unlocked chest in their reflection. Move your character's reflection next to the reflected chest and press interact to open it — this shatters the mirror and adds 3.5 Curse. Shooting the mirror also adds 3.5 Curse but makes the chest impossible to obtain.
- Reflected chests can be
Mimic - Reflected chests can be
Glitch Chest, but without the usual glitch animation - Freezing the mirror obscures the reflection, but the chest can still be opened normally
- Bullets do not appear in the reflection and cannot damage the reflected chest
Demon Face

Demon Faces are large green wall carvings that grant access to the Black Market. They can spawn on any floor except the ???, R&G, and Bullet Hell.
Entry requires at least 1 Curse, or 100 casings on hand (or having held 100 that chamber). Without these, the Demon Face deals half a heart of damage and ejects the player. After the first visit, a teleporter spawns inside for permanent re-entry.
Inside,
Old Red,
Cursula,
Professor Goopton, and
Flynt each stock three wares at half price — the exception is
Flynt, whose
Key-priced goods are not discounted. A corridor on the east side leads to a bonus
Winchester shooting range whose entry fee is also halved (see
Winchester Minigame Guide).
Shooting water-based weapons (
Mega Douser,
Siren,
Barrel,
Glacier,
Bubble Blaster,
Megahand,
Starpew,
Tear Jerker) into the Demon Face's mouth yields a free random A quality or S quality gun or item, with no Curse or coin requirement; interactive water barrels and the
Compressed Air Tank do not trigger it.
- While the
Lord of the Jammed is present, all merchants stop selling - Merchants already met on the main floor may appear as duplicates in the Black Market
- Stealing in the Black Market only affects Black Market merchants, not the same merchants elsewhere in the run; one guaranteed steal is available per merchant (see
How to Steal from Shops) - During a
Rainbow Mode run these four merchants have empty shelves, but the Demon Face can still be sprayed for its A quality or S quality reward
Muncher
Munchers appear near shops or in secret rooms throughout Enter the Gungeon. Feed them two guns and they produce one new gun in exchange.
Quality mechanics
The quality of the gun a Muncher produces falls between the quality of the two guns fed to it, inclusive. It will not normally produce a gun above or below that range — but if neither gun fed was S quality, there is a 5% chance to receive a gun one tier higher.
Fixed combinations
The following combinations always produce a specific gun, regardless of quality. Feed one gun from the first column and one from the second column to trigger the recipe.
Notes
- Munchers do not accept infinite-ammo guns, including the starter pistol,
Gunther,
Casey, and
Dueling Laser - A popped
Balloon Gun and a shattered
Glass Cannon cannot be fed to a Muncher - Feeding a
Duct Taped gun consumes both guns but counts as only one - The order in which guns are fed does not affect the result
Evil Muncher
Evil Munchers are always found in the secret room of Bullet Hell. They can also rarely appear in secret rooms on other floors, and have a small chance to replace normal Munchers. Sometimes the secret room is shaped like a skull.
To unlock
Gunslinger's Ashes, feed the Evil Muncher a total of 10 guns across any number of runs. Progress carries over between runs.
After
Gunslinger's Ashes is unlocked, the Evil Muncher consumes a random number of guns before spitting one back out; when it does, that gun is A quality 75% of the time and S quality 25% of the time. How many you need to feed before each payout is therefore unpredictable.
Notes
- Evil Munchers have a small chance to replace normal Muncher spots at shops
- Gun count progress carries over between runs — dying or leaving does not reset it
- Evil Munchers still produce guns on Rainbow Mode runs
- There is no known cap on how many guns an Evil Muncher can consume after
Gunslinger's Ashes is unlocked
Heart Machine

The Heart Machine stores
Heart pickups for later use when you are already at full health. When a heart drops and you are full, picking it up shows a "save for later" prompt and stores it in the machine instead of healing you.
The machine appears in shops and in elevator rooms leading to the next floor. The map interface shows how many hearts are currently stored. Stored hearts are only usable on the current floor — they cannot be carried to the next.
- When withdrawing, each
Full Heart is automatically split into two
Half Hearts - The Vampire NPC exchanges
Half Heart for 20 casings (multiplied by the current floor's price modifier) - If full on health, clear the room first before collecting dropped hearts to avoid wasting them
