Every unlock condition in Enter the Gungeon — how to unlock all characters, guns, items, and more, organized by category.
Most guns, items, and characters in Enter the Gungeon must be unlocked before they can appear in runs. Unlocking items also makes them more likely to appear. This guide covers every unlock condition, organized by category.
Character Unlocks
Only four characters are available at the start; the rest appear in The Breach once you meet their conditions.
Bullet only needs you to spare 5 
Red-Caped Bullet Kin and can be picked up early, while 
Robot first requires opening the Gungeon shortcut before the 
Busted Television appears — not cheap, so slot it in after that shortcut quest. Meanwhile The 
Paradox and The 
Gunslinger require killing a past first and are long-term, post-clear goals.

Skin Unlocks
Both are purely cosmetic and do not affect power, making them a good stretch goal once you are comfortable with a character. Mysterious Companion here is the local co-op second-player character, playable only in two-player co-op.

Shortcut Unlocks
Elevator shortcuts are opened by delivering money, 
Key and other resources in batches to 
Tinker in The Breach, letting you ride straight to the matching floor. Finishing the shortcut quests also unlocks the guns and items below; the deliveries are costly, so open them gradually when you can spare the resources.
Guns
Gun unlocks come from three broad sources: repeatedly clearing specific floors, meeting special kill or challenge conditions, and buying from Breach merchants with Hegemony Credits collected in Enter the Gungeon. The more guns you unlock, the better your average loot pool each run — generalist guns give the biggest payoff first.

Merchant purchases and hunting quests
Items
Item unlocks likewise cover floor progress, boss kills and Breach shop purchases, and many happen naturally as you play. Prioritize the 'kill each character's past' conditions — each one unlocks several items at once and is the fastest way to grow your item pool.
