• Cast Iron - If the player has [Multibacchetta] , [Pistola stregata] , or [Esarma] , each of Big Iron's bullets are replaced with one from [Multibacchetta] , [Pistola stregata] , and [Esarma] . These bullets have infinite range.
• Iron Slug - If the player also has [Proiettili massicci] , [Mirino] , [Stivali pesanti] , [Proiettili pesanti] , or [Proiettili grassi] , Big Iron fires one large, explosive iron bullet that does increased damage.
• If the player has both synergies, Big Iron will take the attributes of whichever synergy was acquired last. If the player acquires Cast Iron after Iron Slug , Big Iron will fire Cast Iron bullets but still have the altered appearance from Iron Slug .
• Despite Big Iron using bullets in its ammo bar, shell cartridges come out of its compartment when reloading.
• Despite firing a spread of multiple bullets like a shotgun, the Big Iron is not in the SHOTGUN gun class , instead residing in the PISTOL class.
• Bullets shot with this gun spell out its name

• This gun is a reference to the Marty Robbins song of the same name.
• The synergy Iron Slug may be a reference to the game "Metal Slug".
