Anecdotes

  • In real life, Derringers were very small, concealable pocket pistols that became very popular from the 19th century onwards. Also known as palm pistols , they bear the name of their inventor, Henry Deringer. Most of them were single shot or - as in the model portrayed in game - double shot.
  • The Dead Prez synergy refers to the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln, who was famously shot by John Wilkes Booth using a Philadelphia Deringer. "Dead Prez" is also the name of a hip hop act.
  • The Thorn Bath, ooh! synergy references the character of Thorn Bathu from the novel "Half the World."
  • The characters in game reload the Derringer through the use of a sleeve rig causing the weapon to disappear into their sleeve and reappear fully loaded a fraction of a second later. This is referenced with the flavor text "One Last Trick".
