Traditionally, this means showing proficiency in bridge delivery and maintenance. If no bridge is available, however, it will take less important things like courage or determination into consideration.

  • It cannot be dropped.
  • While Windgunner is held, no other guns can be used or switched to.
  • If the player gets rid of the [Sprène] item while Windgunner is active by selling it, throwing it into a pit or destroying it by any other means, the gun will remain for the rest of the run.

Anecdotes

  • This gun (and the [Sprène] ) are a reference to the Stormlight Archive novels by Brandon Sanderson. One of the main characters is followed by a spirit called a spren that gives him the abilities of an order of knights known as the Windrunners, one of the abilities being that the spren companion can transform into any weapon the user desires. The flavour text, "The Way of Guns", is also a reference to the first book in the series, The Way of Kings .
