CA-15

L'armure ritAutomatique

Synergies

Steel Skin:

If the player also has [Nanomachines] , it will remain in its powered-up form without having armor.

[Nanomachines]

Notes

  • Armored Corps - If the player also has [Fusil d'assaut du Noyau du Grand-Néant] , both guns gain increased fire rate and shot speed.
  • Steel Skin - If the player also has [Nanomachines] , it will remain in its powered-up form without having armor.
  • If all armor is lost while AC-15 is in its armored form, it plays a short breaking animation when returning to its original form.
  • The Robot will always have the armored form due to The Robot having armor instead of hearts.

Anecdotes

  • Unused: Constitution Check - If the player has [Armure de Chevalier du Gungeon] , it causes an unknown effect.
  • The gun's old pickup quote, "Metalled Gear", is a reference to the Metal Gear series.
  • The gun's name and pickup quote are a reference to the Armor Class (AC) system, used since the 1st Edition of Dungeons & Dragons to denote characters' defensive capabilities. Wearing armor would increase the AC, making a character harder to hit, which is why armor increases the gun's power. The gun's description of an "unintuitive system" refers to the THAC0 (To Hit Armor Class 0) system used in 2nd Edition, which gave numbers to each character class that they would have to roll on a die to hit an armor class of 0, reducing the "to hit" number if the AC was greater than zero, and raising the "to hit" number if the AC was less than zero. The system was complex, which led to later editions having players roll dice against the AC value itself, rather than using the THAC0 number.
  • The unused Constitution Check synergy also refers to Dungeons & Dragons, in which Constitution is one of the core six " ability score " stats whose value applies bonuses or penalties to various values and rolls, such as hit points. More specifically, it refers to an ability check — a d20 roll whose result is modified by an ability score (Constitution in this case) and must exceed a certain result for the check to succeed.
  • If the player has no armor and opens a chest containing the AC-15, it will briefly take on its upgraded appearance before changing to its normal form.
  • The gun's synergy with [Fusil d'assaut du Noyau du Grand-Néant] may be a reference to the Armored Core series of videogames.
  • AC-15 shines while the player is armored.
  • [Balles Œil-de-Liche] will cause the AC-15 to always be in the powered up form due to the Steel Skin synergy.
