This gun is a reference to the sawblade trap from Super Meat Boy , and a joke about how there are so many of them.
Its title "Very fast" and the first sentence of its description are also a reference to Super Meat Boy, where on the character select screen Meat Boy's description is "Very fast. Made of meat!"
Dropping the Super Meat Gun and picking it back up causes the granted heart container to disappear and reappear empty.
This is the only heart container-granting item in the game that doesn't grant a filled heart container on first pickup.
Dodge rolling temporarily grants a significant fire rate increase, much like the [Derringer] .
I Studied The Blade is a line from an infamously cringey post saying that while you were doing X, Y, and Z, the poster had been "studying the blade," in reference to a katana.
